Introduction to the Clear-Aligner
Invisible Anterior Teeth Aligner
Application for Use:
The Alternative Creations Clear-Aligner is for re-aligning the anterior teeth only. Minor rotations and/or relapses of anterior teeth up to 3mm's are ideal cases for the Clear-Aligner. An example is an adult who would like to straighten only the anterior teeth on the upper and lower arch with clear plastic trays instead of wires.
How do I know how many Clear-Aligners a patient will need?
Each Clear-Aligner will move teeth about 1 mm. If 2mm of movement is needed, then 2 aligners will be needed.
Treatment Time:
Each Clear-Aligner will move teeth about 1mm depending on the mobility of the teeth. It will take 4 to 6 weeks for the teeth to move into the new position. If 2 mm of movement is needed then a new aligner will be needed. This movement will continue until the teeth have reached their ideal position. We will make up to 4 aligners from the original model. Once the treatment has been completed if more movement is needed we will need new models.
How is space created for movement of crowded anterior teeth?
By Interproximal reduction (stripping) of the teeth or expansion.
Will I see perfect results?
Results depend on many factors: shape of teeth, amount of moving, root position, patient cooperation, etc.
Can the Clear-Aligner be used as a permanent retainer?
Yes. It should last up to a year if patient takes care and is not grinding.
